When my brother and I were little we would get Sam to do this by spraying Binaca mint-flavored breath spray on our hands and letting him lick it or by spraying it on the grass near him. For some reason the mint smell/flavor would make him act really silly and roll around.
Does your dog ever do this? Sometimes Sam will flop onto his back and twist around snorting. He seems to do it when he wants attention. It’s hilarious.

Something my 9 year old sister drew for school…
This was popular on Reddit earlier this week, but only has 3 notes so far on Tumblr?!
Some Redditor even made a vector trace of skillzface!

What does English sound like to foreign ears?
We’ve all heard examples of fake Chinese or German from speakers who lack familiarity with either language. While typically cringe-worthy, these examples do raise interesting questions regarding our own language. What does English sound like to non-English speakers? After more than 40 years, Adriano Celentano’s “Prisencolinensinainciusol” remains one of the most illuminating examples.
The entire song is nonsense verse, neither English nor Italian, but the sounds are meant to resemble English. Linguist Mark Liberman wrote an interesting post about this sort of thing over at Language Log discussing yaourter, the French word for an attempt to speak or sing in a foreign language that one doesn’t know all that well. This often involves trying to sing a foreign song with nonsense or random words filling in the blanks.

This isn’t real (it’s an entry in a Photoshop contest), but I’m still reblogging for one person’s caption: “His antelopes make a star shape.” XD

Facebook chatted for a couple hours with a boy from grade school
It’s the first time we’ve talked in over a decade, and it turns out that we have a ridiculous amount in common… not in an “Oh my god, we’re soul mates!” way but in an “Oh my god, are we related?!” way! Ha ha.
He told me that I was his first crush, second if Janice from the Muppets counts. He also described how one time he found out which house was mine and tried to bring me flowers, but then he but saw my dad’s novelty “Trespassers will be shot” sign and ran away scared. How adorable and sad!
He was such a cute, curly-headed blond kid, too. When he told me the story I just thought of this:

“axon-axoff.tumblr.com is probably written by a male somewhere between 26-35 years old.”
Ha! I’m not as baffled by that as I am by the fact that 1/6 of my posts seem like they’re written by someone aged 66-100.
